THE best comes from the West but perhaps the same cannot be said for Efua the Western Regional representative of TV3’s Ghana’s Most Beautiful pageant when she became the first to be evicted out of the contest.
Last Sunday, was fashion night, and all 10 contestants catwalk on the stage in three different categories — freestyle, casual and evening wear by various designers.
The beautiful contestants were more relaxed because they did not have to make speeches but only model and show off their lovely costumes.
After each contestant had modelled, the judges comprising regular judges Efo Kodjo Mawugbe and Linda Ampah and guest judge Herman Ofori MacMillan gave their comments.
Considering the fact the contestants are not professional models, the effort they put in their acts received commendation from all the judges.
Nonetheless, there were a few mishaps in the modelling and the designs which were rightly voiced out by the judges.
The pageant which is sponsored by Onetouch is on the theme “Redefining Beauty to Promote National Unity” and judged through 100 per cent public votes.
However, the judges have the power to save one of the two contestants who gets the least votes.
Last Sunday, the lot fell on Fawzia representing the Upper West Region and Ekua.
In a unanimous decision, the judges saved Fawzia and said Ekua had not lived up to expectation and had not added much to the pageant.
The remaining contestants are Erica (Brong Ahafo Region), Akua (Eastern Region), Fanny (Central Region), Adoley (Greater Accra Region) and Fawzia (Upper West Region).
The rest are Ruweida (Northern Region), Abena (Ashanti Region), Rafiatu (Upper East Region) and Eyram (Volta Region)
